by Cheryl Erpelding
In 1983, the loss of my first husband to a drunk driver sent me from Florida back to California to decide what to do with the rest of my life. I had also bought my first horse, an off-the-track Thoroughbred named Trader Jack, that I had in training with Michele Thornton’s North County Riding Center in Del Mar.
