What do you envision when you think of a dressage horse? Most likely,
one of the many varieties of warmblood that predominate in dressage
shows these days.
But if you’re a “vintage” dressage rider, you’ll remember when most
American dressage mounts were Thoroughbreds or Thoroughbred crosses,
either repurposed hunter/jumper horses or off-the-track racing retirees.
